Georgian House, Alresford,
Hampshire

A Grade II* Listed house in Hampshire dating from the late eighteenth century with later additions. An upper storey has been reconstructed over the drawing room, with a matching symmetrical wing to the west.  A new library has also been created on the site of the original Victorian morning room with basement archive beneath.

The new summerhouse is an unusual example of high quality craftsmanship using traditional methods and materials and was the overall winner of the 2006 RIBA Downland Prize and received a commendation in the 2006 Georgian Group Architectural Awards.

Architect: George Saumarez Smith, Director at ADAM Architecture.
